Camera systems are generally less expensive and the standard camera range can handle 355 to 1350 nm beams which are in the 100 µm to 15 mm diameter range.
Various configurations of scanning slit systems can cover smaller beams down to a few microns, beamwaist position in Z, and 190 to 2400 nm, but do have pulsed laser repetition rate limitations.
