Suggestion: When upgrading the software, first open Windows Explorer and rename the old c:\Program files\DataRay directory with its Version number as, e.g. c:\Program files\DataRay500S8.
Then install the new software. If problems arise you can return to the old version.

6.00P2 is the most recent working software for the Rev. 2 firmware originally installed on these cameras.
[To use these cameras with current software, 6.00S7 and later, requires factory installed Rev.3 firmware. The firmware upgrade is free, but the customer pays shipping both ways. Contact DataRay.
The sensor manufacturer changed their process after the large case -UCM's were manufactured, affecting offset trimming and calibration. Current software is compatible with the later chips, but requires Firmware Rev. 3 to work with the earlier chips.]

Warning!    If you download via a company server which has a cache turned on,
   and       you have already downloaded a previous version of a file with the same name,
   then      the caching routine may ignore file updates where the name has not changed,
   unless   it also checks file revision dates on downloadable files.
   Either   ensure that the caching routine verifies file dates,
   or         persuade your IT people to implement the file date check function on the server.

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3. Warning update, 8 Aug. 2002:
This warning applies ONLY to software Versions prior to 5.00A.
You may fix your version as outlined below. Alternatively, upgrade using the latest version of the software, above.

Older versions of the windrvr.sys file (used to communicate with the PCI card) are incompatible with Windows 2000 Service Pack 3, released by MicroSoft on 1 Aug. 2002. Do not install SP3 for W2K until you have upgraded the windrvr.sys file or loaded the latest version of the software.
Unzip the windrvr.sys file to c:\Program files\DataRay, replacing the previous version.
Also replace the file in the c:\WINNT\system32\drivers file.
Reboot.
  
If this warning is too late, you have already installed W2K SP3, & your machine will not boot:
1) Power off the PC, remove any DataRay cards and restart.
2) If it restarts, replace windrvr.sys as detailed above. Then power it down, reinsert the DataRay PCI cards and restart.
3) If it does not restart after stage 1) or 2), refer to www.jungo.com/support/tech_docs/td108.html?jungonl0802.
     As and if necessary, call in your PC support staff.
